Privacy policy
Effective August 2026
1. What this covers
This policy explains what Flicker stores, how it's used, and who can see it. The short version: we collect only what the service needs to run, we never sell it, and the most sensitive thing we hold — your birthdate — is never shown to anyone.
2. Data we store
Your sign-in details (email, or your Discord account if you sign in with Discord). The profile you build: username, chosen avatar, region, platforms, mic preference, vibe preference, and any bio or prompt answers you add. Your birthdate. The contact handles you share (Discord handle, gamertag). And your activity on the service: lobbies you host or join, chat messages, play-again answers, blocks, and reports.
3. Your birthdate
You must be at least 13 to use Flicker, and you're required to give a truthful birthdate at signup. We use it for exactly one thing: placing you in an age group — 13 to 17, or 18 and over — so that everyone you see on Flicker is in yours. Your birthdate is never displayed to anyone, including other players, and it can't be edited after signup. Accounts belonging to anyone under 13 are removed.
4. Who sees what
Your profile basics — username, avatar, region, bio, prompt answers, and per-game ranks — are visible to players in your age group through your lobbies and listings. Your contact handles are revealed only to people in a lobby with you, never publicly. There are no public profile pages and no user search. One-sided play-again answers and blocks are never revealed to the other person.
5. What we don't do
We don't sell your data. We don't run ads or build advertising profiles. We don't collect photos — avatars are built-in illustrations. We use your data only to run the service and keep it safe.
6. Retention
Lobby chat is deleted about an hour after a lobby ends. Listings are deleted seven days after they're created. Reports are kept while we review them. The rest of your data is kept while your account exists and removed when your account is deleted.
7. Your choices
You can edit your profile, contacts, and preferences in settings at any time. You can block someone to stop seeing each other's lobbies and messages, and report behavior that crosses a line. To delete your account and its data, contact us.
8. Changes and contact
If this policy changes in a meaningful way we'll post the new version here. Questions about your data go to support@flicker.gg.
